On November 29, SFGH will host the Family Firm Institute Midwest Chapter event, “How to Get the Best from Your Family Business Attorney," presented by SFGH partner Henry C. Krasnow. Having served family businesses for 50 years, Henry knows the roles lawyers can and should play in a business, especially one owned by a family. He’s seen what works and what doesn’t and has developed a unique perspective on how they can be managed to add the most value. He will highlight the areas where decisions should not be made without the advice of wise counsel and share his thoughts on the warning signs that lawyers might be offering misleading or unconstructive advice. Henry will also share his perspectives on the role lawyers should play in dispute resolution (often dramatically called “litigation”) that dispute is with “insiders” or vendors, customers, landlords, etc. All leaders can achieve better results by rethinking their perspective and expectations.
