Ronald Grais receives Governor's Volunteer Service Award

Ronald Grais has been recognized for his 33 years of service to Thresholds, a nationally-recognized community mental health organization, in receiving the 2016 Governor's Volunteer Service Award (North East Senior) from the Serve Illinois Commission. The award recognizes individual vounteers throughout Illinois and highlights the importance of volunteerism and community service in the state.  Ron was chosen from more than 200 nominees in this category as one of five individuals over the age of 55 from around the state for this award and was the only winner from the Chicago area. As an advocate, fundraiser, thought leader, and real estate development guru, Ron has made an immeasurable impact on Thresholds and the mental health community in Illinois and across the United States. Since 1959, Thresholds has provided healthcare, housing and hope for thousands of persons with mental illnesses in Illinois each year.
