On June 10, 2013, Michelle M. Huhnke used "ripped from the headlines" examples to illustrate how proactive attention to ethical practices can help charities and their constituents avoid damaging and embarrassing scandal. Michelle advised exempt organization practitioners about how to avoid getting caught up in the sometimes tangled relationships between charities, their boards, their officers and their donors. She also reviewed the ways in which the Illinois Model Rules of Professional Conduct can apply to exempt organizations practice. This talk highlighted how exempt organizations can help their clients embrace good governance and an ethical workplace.
