Nicole Stefanelli joins Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Hammer LLP's Corporate Restructuring and Creditors' Rights Practice as a partner in firm's New York office

Nicole has extensive experience representing debtors and creditors in complex chapter 11 proceedings in a broad range of industries, including transportation, manufacturing, medical, the arts, and financial services.  Nicole also represents creditors’ committees in large chapter 11 cases throughout the country.  Clients frequently turn to Nicole for bankruptcy advice in connection with the acquisition of distressed assets outside of a bankruptcy and in other commercial matters.

In 2016, Nicole was named a New Leader of the Bar by the New Jersey Law Journal and an Emerging Leader by The M&A Advisor.  In addition, Nicole has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in the Bankruptcy-Business category since 2013.  Nicole currently serves as the Co-Chair for the New Jersey Network of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation and has been a member of its board since 2012.  Nicole regularly contributes to legal treatises and other publications and is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcies and workouts.  Prior to entering private practice, Nicole served as Judicial Clerk to The Honorable Kevin Gross, United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (2007 to 2008).
