Form 990: Key Compliance Points and Disclosure Considerations

Michelle M. Huhnke, "Key Compliance and Disclosure Considerations," Tax Exempt Organizations from Start to Finish, National Business Institute (Sept. 2011).

Michelle M. Huhnke advised exempt organization practitioners about the IRS's revised Form 990, the key reporting form for charities.  This discussion focused on how the new Form 990 reflects the IRS's current focus on good governance by charitable boards, officers and employees.  Reporting on compensation, loans, and other insider transactions make charities' operations more transparent, and practitioners should advise their clients accordingly.  The Form 990 is the IRS's chief tool for enforcing compliance with tax law.
